King Kong scans

I somehow freaked up most of the attached photos in the previous South African jazz post. No biggie on the Goldblatt photos, as the link where I took them from is given anyway. The King Kong LP sleeve scans though are my own, and just for the curious, here they are again:

Apologies for not having posted a lot of late.

I promise there will be more music up here soon (some out-ish stuff, for a change, and some smokin' tenors, too).
Also to all of those who posted comments in the last week or more, I will add replies now - finally!
I was just too busy to update my blog more regularly, sorry for that!

Just so no one thinks I'm taking another sabbatical again!



The images of course aren't here by chance - rather they're stills from a film of one of my all-time favourite directors, JLG. This film I'll catch tonight on the big screen - never had a change to see it before! 

Fantasy Jazz Catalogue 2004

This is the 2004 (last one printed, as far as I know) edition of the great and gone Fantasy label's jazz catalogue, including the labels Prestige & New Jazz, Riverside & Jazzland, Contemporary, Debut, Milestone, Fantasy, Specialty, Bluesville, Swingville, etc. etc.

If you are - as I am - on a hunt for already or soon out-of-print Fantasy reissues, this might be helpful to get an overview. The list of titles I'm still looking for is shockingly long, and I'm quite desperate, in fact... seems pretty useless in even trying to get all I ever want - I'd have to find a rich uncle in America first, and then he'd have to die an leave me with a few thousands (or rather tens of) $$ in order that I could complete my collection!
