Romano-Sclavis-Texier - Cully 2007 - now on dime

Romano-Sclavis-Texier, October 29, 2005 at Piacenza Jazz (Pre-)Festival 2005, Teatro Municipale, Piacenza (Photo by Danilo Codazzi)

Here's my latest dime offering:

After seeing (and taping - I might post it here later if it came out alright, still have to hear all of it) the new Sclavis Quintet play a terrific set on Sunday at this year's Taktlos festival (http://www.taktlos.com/), it was quite a bit of a Sclavis feast to have a Romano-Sclavis-Texier show on RSR 2 the night after. And again: what a great show! Seems #10 is the encore, it's abridged (they go into a tune the RSR website doesn't mention - Tom_P may recognize it?) but otherwise it could well be that this is the complete concert (I don't know for sure, though, but judging from the - omitted here - fm announcements, it might well be).

No sample needed - a must have, simple as that!

The Romano-Sclavis-Texier trio is a terrific band. They have been en route now for over ten years and have released three very good albums on Label Bleu (I only have the last of those called "African Flashback"), each of them coming with a little booklet of photos by their companion Guy Le Querrec, the great Magnum photographer, who went with them on their trips to Africa.

i'm confused :-S

it's taken me a while (working patiently up from the bottom) to find something i'm sure i want to hear - not heard of a lot of the guys below! - and i can't find a link here..? did you change your mind at some point and start just linking to dime?

hmmm

Hi centrifuge - this is only a link to a post over on dime, as are indeed all posts labelled "dime pointers".
I haven't been able to upload a lot of music here, simply because I don't have that all ready in digital form. I will not be able to post daily, but I hope to have something up here once a week or so. Next will be some Mildred Bailey... pretty much a change of direction, but I just finally completed a thorough listen to the Mosaic set of hers (now I'm indulging in the Bunny Berigan that I just snatched before it went OOP)!

I've got artwork for this, too, please drop me a mail, I'll try and allow mails through my blog, don't feel like posting my email address here in the open and can't find a possibility to contact you via your blog...
