Noah Howard - NYC 1997

There's a great tribute to Noah over on Streams of Expression. Here's the penultimate set of my own little tribute, featuring Howard at the Knitting Factory with the great Wilber Morris on bass.

Noah Howard actually reminds me a bit of Marion Brown, so it's somewhat fitting to find them posted here under similar circumstances. One thing I wanted to note is how evocative the photographs you posted with these sets are. They have such an intense, hard-edged feel that makes me want to grab a sax and blow as hard as I can. I especially love the shot of Marion behind his sax. Long live black and white film photography!
